The tabletop microphone provides an extremely rugged switch capable of withstanding more than 25,000 switching cycles. The list below offers some microphone wiring information. There are some radio brands that have the same general wiring (such as Cobra and Uniden) but that is not always the case. Generally, a radio manufacturer will wire their microphones the same so that the microphones are interchangeable between their radios, however, this is not always the case.įor example, Cobra 4 Pin radios are wired 1) Shield 2) Audio 3) Transmit 4) Receive while Midland 4 Pin radios are wired 1) Audio 2) Shield 3) Receive 4) Transmit. For example, just because two different microphones are 4 pin does not mean that they are wired the same, even if they are the same brand! Different manufacturers may wire their microphones differently. Thank you for coming to my TED talk, pls upvote if you think this feature will come in handy. We created this page to help people understand that not all microphones are wired the same way. but that is also cumbersome, since i don't wanna leave the game and alt-tab and open discord from taskbar and then mute the mic, lets admit it, nothing can be as simple as just pressing a key (just like in push-to-talk ) I also understand that there is a "mic-mute". so i can just keep pushing the "push-not-to-talk" key for few seconds (or minutes). Personally i don't like push-to-talk, so it'd be cool to have this feature to save me the embarrassment if my family members say something that i don't want my friends (or sometime strangers) to hear. then i gotta talk to them and all the people in voice channel can hear the conversation since mic is on. I am not alone at home, and many time my family member will come to talk to me while i am in game and connected to discord as well, with my friends. To put it simply - the opposite of "push-to-talk" So when we set input to "voice activity" (that is when mic is always on), there should be a key that we can push to not transmit the audio. Just like there's a key that you "push-to-talk" and if that key isn't pressed, the audio doesn't transmit. I won't use lot of words, just think of it like this.
